My Baking Origins

My love for baking started when I was young. I took full advantage of my grandmas' blissful baked goods: breads, sweet rolls, cookies, pies, and more! Their act of baking demonstrated such love that I still hold dear. Fast forward to 2022 when I said "au revoir" to my full-time French teaching career, I was gifted the opportunity to bake for a gem of a farm in Quinton, VA where an outdoor wood-fire oven resides. Old Tavern Farm gave me a unique opportunity to learn to bake from this incredible oven. For over a year, I baked a variety of breads and galettes out of this wood-fire oven (As seen in photo here). I was able to share the kind of love that my grandmothers showed my family and me all those years ago. Now, I am baking exclusively out of my home for people in neighboring areas of Virginia. I bake for individuals, as well as for family and business events. I bake several types of breads, many of which are naturally leavened, my favorite! Yet I also enjoy baking a large variety of rustic pies, rolls, no-knead breads, flatbreads, cakes, cookies, muffins, scones, English muffins, bagels, and focaccia. I strive to fulfill customer requests, like baking gluten and dairy-free products whenever possible. I relish the challenge of baking something new and different!
